Fairwork Commission varies casual/part-time overtime rules in General Retail Award
The part-time and casual employment clauses 29.1a & 29.2 Overtime, have been varied in the General Retail Industry Award 2010 and a new determination has been issued. The Fair Work Commission handed down the decision on the 12th of December 2017.
The determination includes: overtime rates, hours worked in excess of the ordinary hours of work, hours worked by part-time employees in excess of the agreed hours, hours worked by casual employees, calculation of overtime
This determination comes into force on and from 1 January 2018. In accordance with s.165(3) of the Fair Work Act 2009 these items do not take effect until the start of the first full pay period that starts on or after 1 January 2018.
