TRAINEESHIPS

What is a traineeship?

Traineeships provide the training requirements for people commencing work in their chosen industry or existing employee’s wishing to have their skills recognised.

Trainees are trained on the job by their employer, with flexible study arrangements which makes Traineeships a cost-effective and flexible training method tailored to suit individual industry needs.

Why choose Traineeships?

Some qualifications are only offered at a few locations within the TAFE systems and may be very difficult for New Trainees in some regional areas to attend “off-the-job” training at TAFE.

The FIAA offers a flexible, work-place base approach to training therefore the trainee is not disadvantaged by travel and time away from work.

Why Certificate II and III Traineeships?

The FIAA has recognised the need for access to the current and relevant training courses to keep pace with the changes and skills required in the Furnishings, Timber Manufacturing and Textiles industries.

The courses provide an accredited training program, skill’s development and a clear path for people wishing to pursue a career in their chosen industry, with the emphasis for traineeships being placed on practicality, flexibility and blended training.
