INCENTIVES

 

What incentives and subsidies are available?


With the current commitment from the Australian Government to increase and upskill across various industries, they have made available incentives for not only Employers of Apprentices and Trainees, but also Apprentices and Trainees themselves.

 

These incentives aim to encourage employers to take on new apprentices and trainees by reducing the cost of training, as well as encourage existing employees to become qualified in the their chosen industry.

 

**These financial incentives are available to eligible Employers and their Trainee's / Apprentices.

 

Employer Incentives

 

  • Standard Incentives Commencement/Completion up to $4000 (Trainees/Apprentices)
  • State paid training for eligible Trainees and Apprentices
  • Special Rural & Regional Skills Shortages Incentive $1000 (Apprenticeships)
  • Mature Aged Workers Incentives - 45 years and over (Apprenticeships)
  • Support for Adult Australian Apprentices up to $13,000 - 25 yrs old and over (Apprenticeships) 
  • Assistance to employ and train Indigenous Australians - Wage Assistance Program
  • Assistance to employ and train a person with a disability - Support for People with Disabilities

 

 

To assist your eligible trainees and apprentices, there are also a range of incentives and subsidies:

 

Trainee / Apprentice Incentives

 

  • Tools for Your Trade up to $5,500 (Apprentices)
  • Vehicle Registration Rebate $100 (1st & 2nd Year Apprentices)
  • Travel Concessions (New Entrant Trainee / Apprentices)
  • Travel and Accommodation Assistance (New Entrant Trainee/Apprentices)
  • Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY also available to eligible apprentices through Centrelink

School based New Apprenticeships Incentive

These incentives are designed particularly to support employers who provide ongoing employment opportunities for School Based New Apprentices, assisting them to make a smooth transition from school to work.
