Kitchen, Bathroom & Laundry License
Work involved in the installation, refurbishment, restoration and on-site repairs of or to a kitchen, bathroom or laundry, other than work affecting any internal or external load bearing component of the building that is essential to the stability of the building or any part of it, including things such as foundations, floors, walls, roofs, columns and beams.
(Schedule 5 of the Home Building Regulation, 2004)
Qualifications
To be eligible to apply for a licence to undertake kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation work as described above, applicants must hold one qualification from Group A and one from Group B, listed below.
Group A
Applicants must hold one of the following two Group A qualifications/licenses:
1. Existing trade contractor licence in one of the following classes:

Carpentry

Joinery
-
Plumbing
-
Wall & Floor Tiling
OR
2. Successful completion of a national qualification from the list below:

CPC30208 Certificate III in Carpentry

CPC31308 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling

CPC32008 Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery

CPC31808 Certificate III in Shopfitting

BCF30100 Certificate III in Off Site Construction (Shopfitting)

LMF30402 Certificate III in Furniture Making (Cabinet Making)

In addition to holding a Group A licence or qualification above, applicants must hold one of the six Group B qualifications listed below.
Group B
Applicants must also hold one of the following six Group B qualifications:
1. The following units of competency:
- BCGBC4001A/CPCCBC4001A Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low-rise building projects
- BCGBC4002A/CPCCBC4002A Manage occupational health and safety in the building and construction workplace
- BCGBC4003A/CPCCBC4003A Select and prepare a construction contract
- BCGBC4004A/CPCCBC4004A Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects
- BCGBC4005A/CPCCBC4005A Produce labour and material schedules for ordering
- BCGBC4006A/CPCCBC4006A Select, procure and store construction materials for low-rise projects
- BCGBC4007A/CPCCBC4007A Plan building or construction work
- BCGBC4008A/CPCCBC4008A Conduct on-site supervision of the building and construction project
- BCGBC4009A/CPCCBC4009A Apply legal requirements to building and construction projects
OR
2. The following module from the TAFE Certificate IV in Plumbing Technology (8081) and units of competency:
- 1496A Plumbing contracting principles
- BCGBC4001A/CPCCBC4001A Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low-rise building projects
- BCGBC4004A/CPCCBC4004A Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects
- BCGBC4006A/CPCCBC4006A Select, procure and store construction materials for low-rise projects
- BCGBC4007A/CPCCBC4007A Plan building or construction work

3. The following units of competency from LMF40202 Certificate IV in Furnishing Technology and LMF30302 Certificate III in Furniture Making:

- LMFFM3013A/B Measure & draw site layout for manufactured furniture products
- LMFFM3005A/B Fabricate custom furniture
- LMFFM3006A/B Install furniture products
