APPRENTICESHIPS

Every year the challenge of making a decent profit from business becomes a little bit harder. You not only have to focus on getting sufficient profitable work orders in, but you also have to focus on making some savings, and getting your fair share of Government business financial incentives.

And that is where FIAA can help.

We now have an opportunity to offer you something which will:

  • Assist your business and your employees.
  • Provide substantial financial support – up to $150 per week for employers of adult workers.
  • Provide an exemption, by way of rebate, for workers compensation premiums – again a considerable saving of $$$$.
  • If you are subject to payroll tax, provide an exemption, by way of rebate – again a large saving of $$$ +.
  • Financial support based on training enrolment & completion - $$$$.

All up it is quite possible that you can now receive more than $10,000 in a year just by converting one of your adult workers into our Guild program.

There is however a catch

  • the worker cannot already hold a trade qualification in one of the woodworking / furnishing trades.

And what does the worker get ?

  • He/she has to complete some assignments and projects, and, if assessed as competent, will receive the nationally recognized qualification of Tradesperson Cabinet Maker. He/she may also qualify for other incentives. Additionally, your worker does not have to suffer the embarrassment of attending a TAFE college with teenagers for classmates.

What does it cost you the employer ?

  • It will cost you approximately $500 each year that your worker is enrolled until he/she completes the program. This normally takes three years, but if your worker has stacks of industry experience, that period can be shortened considerably. You will have to provide some time for the worker to complete assignments and projects and be assessed in your work environment.

How many can you have in this program ?

  • There are no real limits.

Who is this program best suited for ?

  • It is best suited for adult workers who have no formal qualification in the industry but who have been working in the industry for several years.

Are junior employees also suitable for this program ?

  • Absolutely yes!

Do the workers attend off-site classes one day per week or one week in four ?

  • As a rule no.
